Malta is home away from home for retired British teacher

, ( PressRelease101 ) September 3, 2010 – “It has changed a lot, Malta has. I am impressed by the improvements made over the years… I still go around, you know… all over the island, and the way Malta has changed – for the better – impresses me,” says retired teacher Valerie Castell, a lively British lady of 81 who has just ended her 24th month-long holiday in Malta, staying each and every time at the Seashells Resort at Suncrest.

Ms Castell came to Malta for first time 24 years ago, with her husband. All those years ago, water sport enthusiasts Mr and Mrs Castell choose Malta for its beautiful weather and superb sea and beaches, and found their ideal holiday home at the hotel then known as Suncrest, a place they fell in love with, most of all, because of its facilities with which, even at the time, few competitors could compare. “It was an obvious choice, because we liked water sports. We loved the hotel so much however that since then we came to the Suncrest every year, enjoying the same beaches and facilities and roaming around the beautiful island,” says Ms Castell, who kept coming to Malta even after her husband passed away.

“We even made a lot of friends here: I met a British friend who also was a regular guest at the Suncrest. She lived on the other side of England and we always made plans to meet on holiday in Malta, at the Suncrest. We also met four Maltese couples who we used to go out with… I still do to this day” she says. “Malta has changed a lot, even the Suncrest Hotel has changed, it is now called Seashells Resort at Suncrest,” she says “ and it is amazing how much has improved,” she recalls, saying that she in Malta and particularly at the Seashells Resort she feels pampered and cared for every time. “I feel at home,” she smiles.

The Seashells Resort at Suncrest Hotel Malta is located directly on the seafront overlooking the picturesque bay of Qawra. It boasts fantastic unspoiled views of the crystal clear Mediterranean sea. The Hotel is located in a stunning location, has superb facilities, meeting rooms and offers a friendly atmosphere. There is no other Hotel in Malta that is more centrally located for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Hotel is just minutes away from numerous entertainment facilities for all likes. Families, couples and individuals wishing to have an enjoyable holiday in Malta, this is the Hotel for your next holiday!

Restaurant Manager at the Victoria Hotel Malta receives MTA Star Award

Sliema, Malta ( pressrelease101 ) March 27, 2010 – Charles Abela, Restaurant Manager of The Copperfield’s Restaurant at the Victoria Hotel Malta, http://www.victoriahotel.com, was declared 2009 winner in the Food and Beverage category of the 5th Special Thanks And Recognition (STAR) Awards. This award recognises the exceptional quality of service provided by Mr Abela while being testament to the exceptional service clients receive at The Copperfield’s Restaurant in particular and at the Victoria Hotel in general.

Mr Abela was conveyed the award during a ceremony held at a local hotel on the 24th February 2010. This year’s edition of the STAR Awards bestowed 14 STARs for excellence in service. Competition was plenty as the winners were drawn from a list of 11,000 nominations sent in by tourists themselves during 2009. This makes Mr Abela’s award even more important and valuable.

The STAR Awards are an initiative by the Malta Tourism Authority aimed at giving public recognition to all those who work directly or indirectly in the tourism industry.

Also worthy of note is the 2nd prize awarded to Ms. Ursola Sant, an employee at the Victoria Hotel who was nominated for the Worker of the Year Award. Fifteen nominations had been submitted in this category overall, which also forms part of the STAR awards and is aimed specifically at exemplary workers within the hotel sector who excel both in the way they perform their duties and their general attitude towards work. The nominations for this category can be submitted by hotel employees of any grade who wish to nominate a fellow worker they think deserves the award.

This is not the first time that The Victoria Hotel has won similar awards, and neither is it the first time similar accomplishments have been achieved by hotels belonging to the AX Group. Indeed last year one of the winners was Adriana Farrugia, from The Palace.
