Domino’s Pizza, the pizza delivery expert, has launched a new six-sheet poster campaign with Blippar to bring its latest 555 pizza deal to life.

Over 6,000 sites across the country now sport Domino’s poster, which uses the Blippar app to create an augmented reality experience. Users can download deals for their nearest Domino’s store, get the Domino’s mobile ordering app, become a Facebook fan and view their local menu, all by looking at Domino’s poster through a smartphone. The different features of the six sheets ‘jump’ off the page when viewed through the Blippar app.

To non-Blippar users, the poster simply shows Domino’s current 555 deal, which offers any three (or more) 9½” pizzas for just £5.55 each.

Nick Dutch, multimedia manager at Domino’s, said: “We’re always looking for innovative new ways to engage with our customers using the latest technology. This exciting new campaign with Blippar provides us with a great opportunity not only to communicate a good pizza deal, but also to engage with users by offering them information specific to their local store and other features just for mobile users. With sites up and down the country, we’re looking forward to pizza lovers blipping it where they live to get more from our posters.”

Following Google’s controversial decision to remove the popular “+” operator from its search tools that allow the user to search more productively, because it narrowed down a users search results, or SERPS, and helped provide them with the most relevant results for their query. However, this month, following a number of complaints by users, Google has introduced a new “verbatim” option to SERPS, to help users have better control over the way that the search.

Christopher Liversidge, QueryClick’s Managing Director comments: “The “+” tool was one of the older tools in Google, and it was retired because it was believed that there was a better way to find an exact match in a search result. However, Google have obviously been quite taken aback by the number of complaints they had from their users when the “+” tool was removed, and so they have created the new “verbatim” tool which allows users to have more control over their results.”

The verbatim tool, as the name suggests, takes what the user types into Google literally, which means that it won’t make automatic spelling corrections, it won’t personalise results based on what the user has searched for in the past, and it won’t search for similar words to the one that the user has entered, such as “running” when the user has typed the word “run”. According to SEO company QueryClick, this will give users great power over their own results, and will give them the results most tailored to their original search query.

Christopher continues: “The verbatim tool needs to be activated by the user before they use it, so it won’t be available unless the user specifically requests it by clicking on the more search tools links on the left side of a Google SERPS page, and then clicking on the Verbatim link. While this is still a relatively new tool, it will give a user more control over what they search for, and could give them the most literal and therefore the correct search result, which is the point of a search engine in the first place.”

www.TurnIntoCash.com has launched a new Android mobile phone application that allows users to scan the barcode of an old CD, DVD or Game, get an instant valuation, and trade them in for cash. The application, which has been developed to complement the existing iPhone app, allows users to scan items, trade them in, check the status of their trade and see when their cheque payment has been issued.

Rob Fox, managing director at TurnIntoCash.com commented; “Many people forget about Android phone users in the rush to develop a mobile app but we wanted to make sure they were supported as quickly as possible after we launched TurnIntoCash.com. In the run up to Christmas Android users can now scan and cash in on CDs, DVDs and Games they no longer want.”

The Android app, which was developed in house and is available on the Android Marketplace, has all the functionality of the TurnIntoCash.com website with the added benefit of enabling users to save time when they cash in and sell their old CDs, DVDs and Games.

Rob continued; “We recognised that Android users are fed up with seeing “coming soon” and wanted to give them the same benefits as other handset users.”

People who are looking to sell their old CDs, DVDs and Games simply scan the item barcode with the TurnIntoCash.com Android App for an instant valuation and when they have built up their trade they are emailed Freepost labels or offered a free courier collection service. Payment for the old CDs, DVDs and Games is sent within seven days of them being received at the company warehouse.

London, October 03 2011 – Data Cabling Expert.tv have giving away a unique and innovative app, a Project Calculator developed by Active Communication Company Ltd, to take all the hard work out of pricing any size data cabling project.

The app has done all the hard work for you. It’s a project calculator that simply takes you by the hand and walks you through a step by step process that will provide you with a project price, you can simply print out and hand over to you client or manager.

When we asked Wayne Connors the M.D of ACCL why he developed the app he said, “We asked our customers what are the main problems they encounter in finding relevant information about data cabling, and it always seemed to be pricing.”

Wayne said, “It all starts when a client or boss asks the question, can you get a quote for some cabling work?” And they need to come up with a clear quote based on the following questions:

• What are we looking for?
• How much will it cost?
• What type of company should we use?
• Can they do the work?
• How do I ask the right questions?
• Will I understand the answers?

Wayne admits it can be a mind field, for someone who isn’t a dedicated data and voice cable expert.

Wayne said they developed the App when clients repeatedly said that they did not know where to start to gather the relevant information. “It’s a free app and we know from the client feedback and usage that it really works.”

The app has had over 700 downloads to date, its designed so anyone can use it for any size data cabling job, it takes the headache out of the task, and it means you get the price right the first time, and you won’t find yourself asking for more money half way through a project.

Wayne at ACCL said that his team at ACCL are more than happy to take a quick look at the results, if you are unsure or just want a second opinion, before presenting your final figures to your client. Wayne said “that’s a free service, and in fact we will even pick up the cost for the call.”

ihop.to, a new company established in the UK, has just launched an exciting new global service which will help companies connect their customers from their physical advertising to their online presence.

One tool that is helping to achieve this is the QR codes (Quick Response – a square form of barcode) now increasingly being used in mainstream advertising ? appearing in papers, shop shelves and menus. However they still rely on the user having a QR code reader on a smart phone and being in the position to scan the code. ihopto eradicates the problem by complimenting the QR codes with specifically chosen keywords that represent you or your brand. They are easy to remember everyday words that link straight to a website, effectively enabling a QR to be branded with the company name, product or advertising slogan.

ihopto provide a tool in which individuals or businesses can create a QR code, using an ihopto URL shortener (ih.to), and a ?tag? (like a keyword, made of a single word, business name or company slogan) that links to their website or even multiple web pages and profiles. This can be achieved by either using the ihop.to homepage or their Facebook application.

Paul O?Shea CTO of ihop.to adds ?ihopto provides the TAG owner with a program to dynamically maintain the URLs, and provide analytics on how many people used their TAG….?

If you would like more information on how ihop.to works, claim your tag or create your own QR Code then please visit www.ihop.to or email press@ihopto.com

Notes to Editors:
Established in 2011, ihop.to was founded by Terry Benge, Ross Gallie and Paul O?Shea who all have individual, extensive knowledge of the online tech-industry.
Domino’s Pizza, the pizza delivery expert, has launched a new free iPad app to enable pizza lovers to order in a matter of swipes. Developed by Somo, the iPad app is the latest mobile addition to Domino’s ordering methods and sits alongside its existing iPhone and Android apps.

Domino's pizza free iPad app

iPad users simply need to enter their postcode and the new app will automatically locate the nearest Domino’s store. Users can then scroll through a carousel style menu to select their favourite pizzas, sides, desserts, subs and drinks. Pizzas can be customised by choosing the base and pizza size, selecting the pizza sauce and then scattering on a range of tasty toppings just by tapping the screen.

Having selected their pizza, iPad users can also choose from a range of sides, desserts and drinks and view the store’s latest meal deals. With PayPal available as one of the payment options, pizza lovers can place their order and pay via the app in just a few clicks.

Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director for Domino’s Pizza, said: “We are delighted to launch our new iPad app, following the great success of our iPhone and Android apps. Sales of iPads are currently growing faster than iPhone* and with the introduction of our new ordering app, we are keen to capitalise on this opportunity. We have achieved fantastic sales to date through mobile channels – our iPhone app generated £10million in pizza sales in just eight months – and we expect this trend to continue with our new iPad app and further take-up of our existing apps for iPhone and Android.

“We want to make sure that ordering a pizza is quick and easy for our customers however they do it and wherever they are – whether it’s sitting on the sofa or commuting home on the train. We have worked very closely with Somo to build an app in true Domino’s style, which is not only user-friendly but fun too.”

Domino’s new iPad app is now available to download free from the App Store.

Facebook advertising cost-per-click (CPC) increased by 22 percent in the second quarter of 2011, according to a Global Digital Marketing Performance Report from performance marketing company, Efficient Frontier and its subsidiary, Context Optional, a social marketing management company. Facebook CPCs are expected to reach 80 percent growth in a year, by the end of 2011.

Findings of the Global Digital Marketing Performance Report include:

• Facebook CPCs up by 22 percent in Q2 of 2011 over Q1, and this is expected to rise through 2011. If they continue to increase at 20 percent each quarter, this will result in 80 percent growth in one year.

• Facebook spend is around five percent that of search spend overall. However, for some advertisers this can peak at 25 percent during specific promotions, or at key buying times.

• Facebook spend currently is mostly incremental and not cannibalising search. Budget for Facebook is mostly coming from offline media such as TV and print. Efficient Frontier believes that Facebook will show the strongest growth in the months ahead.

• Brands are aggressively acquiring Facebook fans and those brands who are active on Facebook will, on average, double their fan base by October 2011.

• Analysis of 20 million fans managed by the Context Optional platform shows that for every brands post, there were an average of 100 comments per post in response. Brands will greater numbers of fans receive greater number of interaction; on average, each 17,000 fans generates one additional comment per post.

• Search spend growth in Q2 slowed globally, but still showed an eight percent increase year on year (year on year increase in 2010 was 17 percent globally). Search growth in the UK was seven percent year on year. Efficient Frontier believes this slower growth is, in part, the result of:

o advertisers focusing more on ROI than volume
o uncertainty in the Eurozone and the recovery of Japan from the March earthquake. Search is a strong indicator of macro-economic conditions.

• In the UK, Google continues to dominate with a share of 92.5 percent. (Note: as the Search Alliance is yet to be implemented outside of the US, Efficient Frontier reports Yahoo! and Bing separately.) Yahoo! was the only search engine that had a higher percentage of clicks than spend, reflecting cheaper clicks.

• The travel sector in the UK remains strong, with an 18 percent increase in ROI compared to the same period last year. Spend has increased by two percent. Despite the small spend increase, the sector has seen a 30 percent rise in clicks year on year (the result of a 15-30 percent fall in CPC over the same period), and a nine percent increase in click-through rate from Q1 to Q2 this year, as consumers become more specific in their searching.

Efficient Frontier’s global marketing director, Jonathan Beeston, says: “The biggest increase in spend this year is on Facebook advertising. Over the year, we expect it to have grown by 80 percent from last year. Budget for Facebook advertising is mostly coming from offline media such as TV and print rather than search.

“If the Yahoo!/Bing Search Alliance renews integration outside of the US next year, then the UK will see the same effect as the US: advertisers will move money towards Yahoo!/Bing to take advantage of ROI improvements.”

Methodology

The analysis was completed based on data from Efficient Frontier search engine marketing customers and the resulting Efficient Frontier Customer Index. The Efficient Frontier Customer Index represents a subset of clients who have spend data for six consecutive quarters or more, whose resulting metrics are then normalised to average industry category contributions established by multiple third party data providers.

For the first time, the report also uses data from Context Optional (which Efficient Frontier acquired in May 2011).
