New Ofcom-accredited mobile price comparison site launches

www.Mobilife.com – the new mobile price comparison site designed to take the confusion out of choosing a new mobile phone contract

- Mobilife analyses over 1 million contact deals and recommends the best deal based on individual usage in real time

CInergy International, the UK mobile market intelligence firm, today announced the arrival of Mobilife, [mobilife.com] a new mobile price comparison site for consumers designed to take the confusion out of choosing a new mobile phone contract. The price comparison calculator behind the site has received accreditation from telecom watchdog Ofcom, and will help address the £3 billion* wasted annually by mobile phone users on the wrong the contract.

CInergy International is a UK-based company that has been providing mobile market data and intelligence solutions to mobile network operators since 2003. Mobilife is built around the engine which has been powering call centre and retail systems of mobile service providers and supported more than 20 million customer** interactions across Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, O2 and Virgin Mobile. By putting this capability directly in the hands of consumers it aims to bring transparency and balance to a confused market.

Recommending the best deals for individual consumers’ needs

Mobilife is a mobile price comparison site which clearly recommends the best deal for consumers, based on the way they use their phone – rather than basing recommendations on deals that are the most popular or most heavily advertised. There are over 1 million mobile contract deals*** available to UK consumers. Mobilife analyses and updates these daily meaning that consumers can be sure the contract deals recommended are the best value deals available.

People can choose to either search for the best package for the phone of their choice or use Mobilife’s real-time bill analyser (currently in beta trial) which looks at the last three months of a user’s mobile bill via their online account and recommends the best contract based on their actual voice, text and data usage.

The free-to-use service can save consumers hundreds of pounds a year. An example of a higher data user who used the beta site saved £612.24 annually as a result of a Mobilife recommendation – enough to pay for a gym membership!

Brian Boroff, MD of CInergy International and Mobilife, commented: “Mobilife aims to make the complex and confusing process of choosing a new contract mobile deal easier and more transparent for everybody.. There are dozens of mobile deal sites out there, but these generally only advertise deals the mobile phone providers pay them to advertise or show most popular deals – which are often not the best value deal for the consumer.”

Delivering what consumers want

Mobilife has been awarded the Ofcom price accreditation scheme logo for meeting the terms of a rigorous independent audit. The audit checks whether the information provided to consumers is accessible, accurate, transparent, comprehensive and up to date, giving consumers the reassurance they need to know that the deals recommended by Mobilife are the best value available in the UK and updated every day.

Commenting on the accreditation, Ed Richards, Ofcom Chief Executive said: “Clear and accurate pricing information on mobile phone services is fundamental to consumer choice. Consumers can be sure that by using an Ofcom-accredited price comparison service they are going to be receiving accurate, transparent and comprehensive pricing information to enable them to choose the best mobile deal for them.”

Brian Boroff, MD of CInergy International and Mobilife, added:Ofcom accreditation is a major step in our goal to delivering the best mobile price comparison service on the market, with accurate and up-to-date price comparison of every UK contract deal”.

Average annual contract phone bill is £532.50 so UK contract mobile phone spend is estimated at £9,753,696,000. Surge in mobile phone gaming could lead to increase in mobile phone recycling

04 March 2011

MobileCashMonster.com, a leading online mobile recycler, is predicting the recent surge in mobile phone gaming could lead to an increase in people recycling their old mobile phones in favour of smartphones and other devices which allow for improved gaming.

A recent study commissioned by PopCap, found that 55 per cent of smartphone gamers now play video games most frequently on their phones, compared to 22 per cent who play on their PC, and 20 per cent on a traditional video games console.

This massive increase from 2009 research which found that only 17 per cent of gamers played most often on their mobile phones is being attributed to the popularity of smartphones such as Apple’s iPhone and others. With hugely popular games such as Angry Birds which is now getting close to passing the 100 million downloads mark.

Simon Dunn of Mobile Cash Monster added: “The cheaper cost of mobile phone games compared to console or PC games, coupled with the fact that mobile phone games are becoming increasingly easy to download, is clearly contributing to this huge rise in mobile gaming.

“However, what is particularly important is having the right device to play them on, and this really means a smartphone or something similar, which we believe will lead to a far greater demand for such devices. For those upgrading we predict that many will be looking to get rid of their phones quickly and easily for cash, turning to mobile recycling companies as awareness of them continues to grow.”

As a special offer during the month of March*, customers of Mobilecashmonster.com will also be entered into a draw to win an iPad – allowing savvy surfers the opportunity to do it in style.

The service is simple: log on to www.mobilecashmonster.com select your mobile model; place an order for an envelope; post it safely and payment will be received within five working days.
