Domino’s Pizza may be coming to a town near you this week, as the mobile unit hits the road for its first ever tour of Scotland. The unit will take to the road on Wednesday, February 8 until Sunday, February 12. The idea is to visit towns in Scotland and feed fresh, hot pizza to the local residents that currently don’t benefit from a Domino’s Pizza store in their neighbourhood.

Domino’s Pizza’s Mobile Unit Goes On A Tour Of Scotland

Sean Geddes, Domino’s Pizza franchisee and owner of the mobile unit said: “We are looking forward to bringing Domino’s Pizza to those homes that don’t have the luxury of being able to order from us. We want to share our delicious pizza with as many people in Scotland as we can. This tour will help us to promote the Domino’s brand and give people in these outreach towns an opportunity to order the best pizza they have ever tasted.”

If this tour is a success there will be repeat visits to these towns and a look at visiting other remote Scottish towns such as Fort William, Oban, Thurso, Dunoon, Galashiels and Hawick.

The Domino’s mobile unit tour starts in Peterhead on Wednesday, February 8. It will then visit Fraserburgh (February 9), Buckie (February 10), Elgin (February 11) and finally finish up in Forres on Sunday, February 12. Domino’s has tied up with Lidl in order to offer hot pizza to the local residents of these towns, as Lidl has agreed to let the Domino’s mobile unit use their car parks, in all the towns it visits. The unit will be serving a variety of hot, fresh pizzas, as well as tasty side orders and refreshing drinks. The unit will open for orders from Midday until 10pm.

Domino’s Pizza, located on Chalfont Way, made a dream come true recently when they gave a Domino’s Pizza fan the chance to become a wobbleboarder for the day.

Wobbleboarding is a fun and eye-catching way for Domino’s to promote the brand and it gives the staff an opportunity to get out of the store and interact with customers. Angie Howarth wrote to Domino’s to say how much her friend, Rachel Casselden, loved seeing the Domino’s wobbleboaders around the town and asked if Domino’s could fix it for her to become a wobbleboarder for the day.

Domino’s Fan Becomes Wobbleboarder For The Day

The Regional Manager for Domino’s Pizza in Reading, Ricky Kandola, was delighted to receive such a request and invited Rachel along to wobbleboard with the team at Reading Football Club. At every home game, the local Domino’s store in Reading attends the match and gives one lucky row of spectators some free, piping-hot pizza. This is handed out during half time. Rachel Casselden and the team went along to the match on Sunday, January 21, when Reading were playing against Hull FC, and gave free pizza to 30 hungry football fans in the chosen row of the day.

Ricky Kandola, Regional Manager for the Domino’s Pizza store, said; “We were thrilled to make a wish come true and give Rachel the experience of being a Domino’s Pizza wobbleboarder. It was a pleasure to have her on board – she did a fantastic job and we would welcome her back anytime.”

Rachel Casselden said: “I would like to thank Domino’s for allowing me the opportunity to promote their hot and tasty pizza. I have been a happy Domino’s customer for many years as they never fail to satisfy my insatiable appetite. This opportunity was particularly exciting due to the warm welcome I received from the crowd, not to mention the look on the footballers’ faces when they saw us. I am looking forward to my next opportunity to endorse Domino’s and feel a career in advertising could be my next big move – thanks again Domino’s – I’m sure I’ll be seeing you again very soon!”

We’ve all been there, someone spots a fantastic deal online on clothes, electronics or other household essentials and thanks to hundreds of deal-based websites and bulk buyers- when we get to the checkout, items are sold out or no longer available. It’s disheartening for the average shopper to miss out on great deals, especially within the current economic climate.

Thanks to SportsDirect.com, the UK’s leading sportswear retailer- customers can now get a fairer deal on a huge selection of their products thanks to the introduction of their maximum order allowance. The most recent online deals from the discount-friendly football boots retailer include a selection of products reduced by a huge 90%; an incredible deal for anyone, unless of course, someone snaps the majority of the products up before you get home from work.

To give the average shopper a better chance at grabbing those superb online bargains, which offers something for every member of the family (and for every season!) SportsDirect.com now only allows a maximum of 3 items to be ordered per household on the daily deals. Great news for people who can’t do their online shopping at 2am, or aren’t signed up to various money saving websites.

Not only are SportsDirect.com making these deals more widely available with the max order system, but items with limited stock are being made available at a later time of day so the products are available for longer.

Log onto www.sportsdirect.com today to make the most of the 90% deals. You can also get the latest deal info and sports news on their official Facebook and Twitter pages.

Domino’s, the local pizza delivery expert, opened a new store in Birmingham just before Christmas and yesterday [Thursday, January 26] the staff decided it was time to hold an official opening party. Actress, Pooja Shah, was invited along to cut the ribbon and take part in the celebrations.

The store was colourfully decorated and Danny Domino, the official mascot, was on site to help with the proceedings – when Domino’s Pizza comes to town it likes to make sure everyone knows about it! The new store is located on Constitution Hill and comes as a welcome boost to the area with the creation of 25-30 new jobs.

Actress Pooja Shah officially opens the new Domino's Pizza store

Pooja Shah, famous for her role as Meena in the film Bend It Like Beckham, is a self confessed Domino’s Pizza fan. Pooja, who has also starred in BBC drama, Missing, alongside Pauline Quirke as well as starring in EastEnders and Coronation Street, was given a guided tour of the store and a lesson in pizza making!

Pooja Shah said: “I was really excited to open the new Domino’s Pizza store. It was a pleasure to meet the team who were all very professional and welcoming. I had great fun trying to make a pizza – it certainly isn’t as easy as it looks! The store looked really smart and it is a very impressive operation. I am sure the local residents are delighted that Domino’s is here.”

Domino’s Pizza’s charity of choice, Special Olympics Great Britain, also made an appearance earlier in the week, as some athletes from the local group were invited along to learn all about Domino’s.

Mike Day, Chairman of Special Olympics City of Birmingham, said: “We took four athletes along to the new store. They all had a fantastic time and were treated really well by the staff. The group enjoyed their pizza making lesson – but not as much as they did eating the pizza! At the end of the day they were all presented with a junior pizza making certificate – it is a day they will remember for a long time to come.”

Muj Yasin, franchisee of the new Domino’s Pizza store, said; “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Pooja Shah to our new store. The team were all very excited to meet her and she was happy to take part in the day’s activities. We are so pleased she is a fan of Domino’s and is welcome here anytime.

“Our visit from the local Special Olympics athletes, earlier in the week, was also good fun. We like to play an active part in the local community so we enjoy holding visits like this for local charities and schools.

“We have a skilled team of pizza makers, customer service representatives and delivery experts and they are all thoroughly enjoying serving homes in the area with our delicious, piping-hot pizza. The response from customers so far has been great – the local residents certainly seem to love Domino’s Pizza!”

To place an order, you can visit the new store at 110 Constitution Hill, Birmingham, B19 3JS or call them on 0121 233 3000. Alternatively, you can order online at www.dominos.co.uk or using Domino’s iPad, iPhone and Android apps.

Scary spice Mel B is currently appearing on UK TV screens in ads for the JENNY CRAIG weight loss programme.

Mel B joined the JENNY CRAIG Programme in Australia – where the ad campaign originally launched – where she was working as a judge on X-Factor. Now, Mel has already passed the halfway mark to her goal and there’s no stopping her!

Mel B hits UK TV Screens

“I am so excited I’ve passed my halfway. My humps and bumps are still there but they’re a little bit smaller and I’m loving it“ Mel B said.

“Being halfway on my weight loss journey means I’m happier and healthier. I still don’t get much sleep at night thanks to Madison, but with my new found energy I’m able to be a better mother.

Mel B is fronting JENNY CRAIG’s latest campaign with huge success, appealing to mothers to invest in themselves.

“Like all mums, I sometimes feel a little guilty taking time out for myself. But this is about my health. I think mums are the centre of their universe, so it’s just something I just had to do,” says Mel B.

In true Mel B fashion, she also had a more personal reward for when she finally reached her goal weight. “I cannot wait until I reach my goal weight – I can, not, WAIT! I’m gonna get my ‘thong on’!! Woot Woot!”

Mel B acknowledges JENNY CRAIG’s 30 years experience as leading weight management experts and providing a support system second-to-none with individual consultants and tailored eating plans.

“Let’s face it, it’s really hard to lose weight by yourself…I hate diets – they don’t work, they’re confusing. JENNY CRAIG is not a diet, it’s a healthy eating plan that makes losing weight easy. I get everything figured out for me and I get supported every single week by my own consultant. I get my breakfast, lunch, and dinner already set, already planned, and my snacks. Brilliant!’” said Mel B.

On Christmas Eve, Domino’s, the local pizza delivery expert, opened a new style store in Basildon. This store is the first of its kind as it moves away from Domino’s traditional high street setting as it is located in a food court, namely within Eastgate Shopping Centre. This new store comes as a welcome boost to the area with the creation of 15 jobs.

This impressive looking store contains many original features for Domino’s, including a large seating area, two menu options to choose from – the ready to go range (for people in a hurry) or the more traditional made to order menu. There is also a lounge area containing four iPads available for customer use, not to mention the addition of wraps and curly fries to the menu.

The store is open from 10am to 6pm and is open on a collection only basis. Domino’s Pizza is a forward thinking, pro-active company that is constantly looking at ways in which to reach out to new customers. By positioning this store within a food court and offering the two different menus, it opens up new opportunities for the brand, who hope to attract a new demographic of customer in the launch of this store.

The ‘ready to go’ menu contains a list of Domino’s six core pizzas available in 7” (personal) or 13.5” (large) only, as well as a choice of wraps and smaller portioned side items. These items are available to collect straight away, fresh and hot from the oven, there is no waiting time. However, customers can always choose to order from the standard made to order menu. These customers will be issued with a flag that has a number of it. After the customer has placed their order, they will be given a flag and asked to take a seat. Then, once the pizza is ready, a Domino’s team member will deliver it direct to their table.

Michaela Roberts, marketing manager for the new store, said: “We are really excited to open this new style store in Basildon. This fantastic new concept means we can introduce Domino’s to a brand new audience, some who may have never experienced Domino’s before and certainly those who haven’t considered it as a lunch option. We have a skilled team of pizza makers and customer service representatives ready to serve the local residents with our delicious piping-hot pizza and hope that this new store will become very popular among the shoppers in Basildon.”

The new store has many meal deals on offer including a Tuesday Double Deal – any two large pizzas for £14.99 (only available on Tuesdays). To check out the meal deals and experience the first sit-down Domino’s for yourself, pop along and visit the new team at Domino’s Pizza, Unit 5, Food Terrace, Eastgate Shopping Centre, Southernhay, Basilson, SS14 1EB.
